Pesto Chicken Alfredo

This pesto chicken Alfredo recipe is a culinary chicken and pasta masterpiece! Take two Italian pasta sauce traditions and marry them together and buon appetito! The subtle creamy flavor of a rich the Alfredo sauce recipe and the brilliant texture, color and freshness of the pesto sauce recipe.

Before I get started on this recipe, can I just say how awesome that image of my pasta recipe looks? I made the recipe and took that picture myself!

Ingredients and Preparation:

  1. 1 lb fettucini
  2. 1 lb of grilled, broiled or poached chicken breast
  3. 12 tbsp of butter
  4. 2 cups of heavy cream
  5. 1 cup freshly grated parmigiano
  6. 3 to 4 tbsp of my pesto sauce recipe
  7. Salt & Pepper to taste

Never made an Italian pesto recipe before? No problem! Just click on the pesto recipe link and follow the directions. It’s very easy and you can make extra to keep for other Italian pasta recipes. Fresh basil, pine nuts, olive oil, a little garlic and some parmigiano cheese and that’s all you really need.

Have you noticed that Italian food is all about simple, fresh ingredients. You don’t need twenty ingredients to put together a delicious pasta dinner. Just care in using good quality ingredients.

Make the pest first and set aside. Once that’s complete boil a large pot of salted water and add the fettucini.

Now begin making your Alfredo sauce recipe.

Melt the butter in the pan on low heat as you would to make a basic Alfredo Sauce and then stir in the cream. As you begin to cook your fettucini whisk the butter and cream. It will naturally thicken. Now remove from the heat and plop in a couple of table spoons of pesto and stir.

Add the fettucini to the pan, then the chicken and the parmigiano and toss your pesto chicken Alfredo together. You can smell the sweet basil and see the richness of the creamy Alfredo as the blend together before you eyes, and the taste? Incredibly delicate and molto bene.
